We live in between Christ having come and yet coming again. Advent calls us to be alert and ready. We look toward a future of kingdom living, yet participate in very real kingdom-building while on earth.
This year we'll focus on how Advent is a season that calls us to get out of our boxes - embracing the gift of Christmas - Jesus - that can not be contained!
Jesus came as a baby to an ordinary family without wordly power. The manger that cradled him was as far "outside the box" of the expected as one could imagine. As we expect the unexpected Jesus, we are called to get to the work of building the kingdom that Jesus announced. We are called to become the unexpected body of Christ in the world.
