Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” This is taken to heart at Santee United Methodist Church.

Childcare for infants and toddlers is provided during both the 8:15 & 10 AM worship services. Sunday School for K-6 grade is offered during 10 AM worship. A special time of teaching called “Moments With the Children” takes place in both services. Children are welcomed and encouraged to worship with their family.

KICK (Kids in Christ’s Kingdom) is a Wednesday night program for children grades 1st-6th, from 5-6:30 PM during the school year. For upcoming activities, visit our EVENTS PAGE or CLICK HERE to learn more about KICK.

Vacation Bible school at Santee UMC is held in July and is FREE and open to children in the community, ages Kindergarten – 6th grade.

Teens in 8th-12th grades. Confirmation gives our youth the chance to ask difficult questions, lift concerns, develop a deeper understanding of other faiths, and learn more about what it means to be a Methodist.

For children and youth, ages 9 to 14, FIRST LEGO Robotics League teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. As a team, youth will design, build, and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology, then compete on a table-top playing field with other teams throughout the nation.

This is a seasonal commitment and one offered to children of the church and beyond.  It all adds up to tons of fun while they learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve a problem. Along their discovery journey, team members will develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and even presentation skills, as they must present their solutions with a dash of creativity to judges.
